McGill University from an Ontario high school
What average does McGill want from an Ontario student?
McGill has a page just for Ontario applicants, with a line per program — but the grades are written as bands, not percentages.
A guideline written in words rather than a percentage. Read from McGill’s own pages on September 20, 2026.
Management
Top 6: Mid 90s. Math course: low to mid 90s.
Bioengineering
Top 6: Mid to high 90s. Math and science: Mid 90s.
Nursing
Top 6: Low 80s. Math and science: Low 80s.
McGill says the values are a guideline only and do not necessarily represent the requirement for upcoming admission, and that matching them guarantees nothing.
The courses it wants
Admission runs on McGill's own calculation of your Top 6 pre-university average, and it requires at least six 4U, DU or 4M courses.
