Ivey Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO)

Western University

Ivey doesn't admit anyone straight out of high school — the HBA program starts in third year. What you apply for now is AEO: a conditional place in HBA that you hold while you do two years at Western in any faculty you like. Ivey says roughly 75% of an HBA class are former AEOs.

Published admission average

A low 90% average in your best Grade 12 courses, including English.

That is the figure Ivey Business School publishes. Consultancy sites quote higher “competitive” averages from self-reported data; those aren’t published by anyone official, so they aren’t here.

What you actually apply to

Any faculty at Western, Huron or King's. You apply to Western through the OUAC as normal and indicate your intent to apply for Ivey AEO on the form, then complete a separate Ivey application.

Courses

Ivey asks for completion of a mathematics course for university-bound students. It does not name a specific course code.

The extra application

Two activities written up as essays, maximum 500 words each, plus up to five more in point form.
A reference for each activity who can verify you were actually involved.
A video interview on the Kira Talent platform — five questions, 20 to 30 minutes.

Keeping it

AEO is conditional. To move into HBA in third year you must hold an overall two-year average of at least 80% across 10.0 credits (78% for Engineering students carrying a full load), get at least 70% in Business 2257, stay involved in activities, and file an AEO Activity Report in first year and an Intent to Register in second.

This is the part people miss. The offer you get in Grade 12 is conditional on what you do in first and second year — it is not a seat you have already won.
