Conditional Admission to Pharmacy (CAP)

Waterloo's PharmD starts after two years of undergraduate study, so you can't apply to it from high school either. CAP is the conditional route: you enter a science program now and hold a guaranteed PharmD interview provided you keep the conditions.
Published admission average
90.0% or higher, as calculated by Waterloo's Faculty of Science. (85.0% or higher for Year 1 CEGEP applicants with at least 12 semestered academic courses.)
That is the figure University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy publishes. Consultancy sites quote higher “competitive” averages from self-reported data; those aren’t published by anyone official, so they aren’t here.
What you actually apply to
Honours Science, Biomedical Sciences, or Life Sciences with Biology as the major. Waterloo notes Honours Science is the most flexible for fitting in the prerequisites.

Set by the science program you apply to rather than by CAP itself — check the program's own requirements.
The extra application
- No standard AIF. Instead an Extracurricular Experience Form showing motivation for pharmacy specifically, plus leadership and community involvement.
Keeping it
You hold CAP through your first two years as a Science student, which includes a satisfactory result on Casper, then complete two years (minimum 10.0 lecture units) before entering the PharmD.
This is the part people miss. The offer you get in Grade 12 is conditional on what you do in first and second year — it is not a seat you have already won.
