Studying Health Sciences in Ontario
You can’t always apply to health sciences directly. Some universities admit you straight into it; others admit you into a broad first-year category and you choose health sciences later. That difference is why searching for a major by name can make it look like a university doesn’t offer it.
Apply broad, choose health sciences later
University of Toronto — St. George
Apply to Life Sciences (including Psychology)
You choose health sciences at the end of first year.
St. George has no program called Health Sciences — that page does not exist, and the Health Sciences stream is a Scarborough thing. The equivalents here are Health and Disease, Global Health and Human Biology, all limited enrolment off BIO130H1 and CHM135H1/CHM136H1 (below 65% in BIO130H1 is not considered). Public Health is separate again, an HBA Major listed under TAX or TAH.

Apply to Life Sciences
You choose health sciences after first year (4.0 credits).
The program is Biology for Health Sciences, requested after first year from inside Life Sciences. UTM has no separate health sciences faculty and no BHSc degree — this is an HBSc.

Apply to Health Sciences stream (OUAC TXF, TXD or TXH)
You choose health sciences you select the stream on OUAC; your actual major is declared at the end of first year.
"Health Sciences" at UTSC is a stream layered on three admission categories, not a degree, and it has its own OUAC codes: TXF (Psychology & Health Studies), TXD (Life Sciences), TXH (Physical & Environmental Sciences). Applying to the plain codes TPS, TSL or TSP will not put you in it. It adds the Certificate in Pathways to Health Professions and is direct-from-high-school only — any post-secondary study makes you ineligible. Separately, Health Policy is an Arts program under TUD, while Population Health (HBSc) is under TPS.

You choose health sciences on the OUAC application itself. Guelph's Honours BSc majors all share code GZ, and you name your major when you apply. First year is common across the majors, so Guelph says switching afterwards is straightforward.
The health-sciences major at Guelph is Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, a BSc under GZ. Bio-Medical Science is separate with its own code GZB at 85-91%, and Applied Human Nutrition is a Bachelor of Applied Science, GS. Guelph's Honours BSc is one OUAC code (GZ) covering 27 majors, published at 80-85% for all of them except Neuroscience (81-86%) and Animal Biology and Bio-Medical Science (85-91%, and those two have their own codes, GZA and GZB). You choose the major on the application, not after first year.

You choose health sciences on the application — choose the Health Studies stream under the Kinesiology code.
Windsor has no general health sciences code. Kinesiology and Health Studies (NP, 70% minimum) covers both under one code; Biomedical Sciences (NSD, 70%) is the lab-science option; Disability Studies (NAD) is a separate code.

You choose health sciences on the application — Lakehead's health-science route is Applied Life Sciences, or Kinesiology.
Lakehead has no health sciences code. Applied Life Sciences (AA, 70% or 75% depending on campus) and Kinesiology (AAA, Thunder Bay, co-op) are the routes; Nursing (AAH) is the clinical one. Lakehead has two campuses and many programmes run at only one: check the campus in the programme name before you apply, because Thunder Bay and Orillia are 1,400 km apart.

You choose health sciences on the application — Nipissing's health route is Physical and Health Education, or Nursing.
Nipissing has no health sciences degree. Physical and Health Education (PPE) is the nearest, and it is limited enrolment: Nipissing's own words are '120 students (max) will be admitted; therefore, the actual admission average may be higher' than the 70% minimum. Nursing (PSN) is the clinical route.

Algoma has no health sciences, nursing or kinesiology programme — none appears on its own list. Social Work (JHA) and Psychology (JBG) are the nearest.

Not at Durham; Trent's Health degree (RHH) is at the Peterborough campus.

Apply straight to health sciences
You apply to Health Sciences by name (EW), then select your module before entering second year: Health Sciences, Health Sciences with Biology, Rehabilitation Sciences or Public Health. Requires ENG4U, SBI4U and one of MHF4U/MCV4U/MDM4U. If you want Health Sciences with Biology you also need SCH4U, which is the prerequisite for the required first-year chemistry. EW is a separate OUAC choice from Kinesiology (EP).
Verified verbatim: "English 4U with a minimum grade of 80%, Biology 4U, Chemistry 4U, and Advanced Functions 4U or Calculus and Vectors 4U." Note either math satisfies it. A Supplementary Application (written plus video response) is mandatory for the ON-CAMPUS BHSc and due Feb 15; the fully online BHSc does not require it. Specialized learning tracks are chosen inside the degree, not applied to. Treat the published minimums as a floor, not a competitive average.
Direct entry, supplementary application required (early-to-mid February deadline), and one of the most competitive programs in Ontario. Two traps: it requires a Grade 12 U/M course that is not math, science or technology-based, and 'Health and Society I' is a completely different Faculty of Social Sciences program whose own page states it is not affiliated with Health Sciences.
Direct entry, and a completely separate admission program from Public Health — these are the two codes people conflate. Health Sciences requires BOTH Biology and Chemistry plus math and English at 70%, admission average mid-80s regular and high 80s co-op; it is the science-heavy, clinical/pre-med-leaning one. Public Health requires only any 4U English at 75% and any 4U math at 70%, admission average low 80s regular and mid-80s co-op, and is population and policy focused.
Health Sciences (BHSc) is direct entry with its own code, CHS, at 80-85% — higher than the general BSc. Concentrations include Biomedical Sciences, Global Health, Environment and Health, Disability and Chronic Illness, and Health Throughout the Lifespan.
Health Sciences is direct entry with its own code at low-80s — higher than the general science door.
York's Faculty of Health publishes several health degrees as separate codes: Health Studies (YHE, mid-70s), Health Policy, Management & Digital Health (YHY), Global Health as a BA (YHS) or BSc (YHT), and Health & Society (YRG). Kinesiology & Health Science (YHC/YHD) is the highest of the group at high-70s to mid-80s.
Brock publishes several health degrees as separate codes, all direct entry: Community Health (BAH), Public Health (BPU) and Child Health (BHL) at mid-70s, Medical Sciences (BSH) at mid-70s, and a combined Public Health and Master of Public Health (BHM) at low-80s.
TMU has no general health sciences code. Public Health (SCO, 70-75%, co-op), Occupational Health and Safety (SOC, 70-75%) and Nutrition and Food (SFN, 70-75%) are the health degrees; Biomedical Sciences (SBS, 80-85%) is the lab-science one.
Health Sciences is direct entry at mid-70s. Human Health Science (DHH), Public Health (DHU) and Health Administration (DHD) share the range; Medical Laboratory Science (DHL) is low-80s and Kinesiology (DKN) mid-70s.
Trent's health degree is simply called Health, direct entry at 75-80%. Biomedical Science (RBS, 75%) is the lab-science option and Kinesiology (RK, 75%) the movement one. Trent publishes a minimum, and its own admissions FAQ says 'meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission'. The safety net is real: if you are not admitted to a competitive programme, Trent automatically assesses you for an alternate offer into a similar one, with no second application.
Laurentian's health sciences degree is Health Promotion, direct entry at 75%. Gerontology (LXA, 70%) and Kinesiology (LKE, 75%) are related codes.
