Apply to Science (ES)

You choose physics at the end of first year, during Intent to Register in March.

Physics, Astrophysics and Medical Physics are all modules inside the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science — one OUAC choice (ES) covers them; there is no standalone 'Astronomy' module, only a Minor in Conceptual Astronomy. Western's own worked example says Math and Physics share code ES, so list Science only once.

Queen's University

Apply to Science – Physical and Chemical Sciences (QSP)

You choose physics during Plan Selection in May at the end of first year.

Physics, Astrophysics and Mathematical Physics are all plans chosen after first year — Astrophysics is confirmed in the Arts and Science plan list. Requires English 4U, Calculus and Vectors 4U, and Physics 4U or Chemistry 4U. Do not confuse this with Engineering Physics, which is a Smith Engineering discipline entered through the engineering common first year (QE) — different faculty, different application, different degree. CODE CAVEAT: confirm QSP on OUAC; Queen's requirements table still prints Science (QS).

McMaster University

Apply to Chemical & Physical Sciences Gateway

You choose physics at the end of first year.

Honours Physics, Astrophysics, Medical & Biological Physics and Honours Mathematics and Physics are all Level 2 choices. If you want the combined Math & Physics program the Mathematics & Statistics Gateway also lists it — the requirement is the Level 1 courses, not which Gateway you sat in.

University of Toronto — St. George

Apply to Mathematical & Physical Sciences

You choose physics at the end of first year.

Calendar confirms both the Physics Major and the Physics Specialist are open enrolment at 4.0 credits. Only SPH4U and MCV4U are required in Grade 12 — SCH4U is not on the requirement list for this program.

University of Toronto — Mississauga

You choose physics after first year (4.0 credits).

Physics, Biophysics, Astronomy and Astronomical Sciences all sit behind this one application code.

University of Toronto — Scarborough

Apply to Physical & Environmental Sciences (OUAC TSP)

You choose physics end of first year, on ACORN.

The program is called Physics and Astrophysics and it applies under TSP, not under Mathematics (TXS). Grade 12 Physics, Advanced Functions and Calculus & Vectors are all required; mid 70s.

University of Waterloo

Apply to Physical Sciences

You choose physics you name your physics major when you apply; Waterloo's physics page words it as selecting the major in first year, so it is not locked at application time.

Four separate physics majors live under Physical Sciences — Physics, Physics and Astronomy, Biological and Medical Physics, and Mathematical Physics — and you indicate one on the application. Mathematical Physics is confusingly also one of the 16 Mathematics majors (wm), so the same degree name sits under two different admission programs with different first years and different admission bars.

University of Guelph

Apply to Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours (GZ)

You choose physics on the OUAC application itself. Guelph's Honours BSc majors all share code GZ, and you name your major when you apply. First year is common across the majors, so Guelph says switching afterwards is straightforward.

Four physics majors sit under GZ: Physics, Theoretical Physics, Chemical Physics, and Biological and Medical Physics. Guelph's Honours BSc is one OUAC code (GZ) covering 27 majors, published at 80-85% for all of them except Neuroscience (81-86%) and Animal Biology and Bio-Medical Science (85-91%, and those two have their own codes, GZA and GZB). You choose the major on the application, not after first year.

Carleton University

Apply to Science - Honours (CT)

You choose physics on the OUAC application, as your major inside the Bachelor of Science (CT, 78%). Carleton also offers a Science Gateway — Life Sciences or Physical Sciences — for students who want a BSc but have not picked a major.

Physics and Applied Physics are BSc majors under CT. Engineering Physics (CEP, 80-85%) is a separate engineering degree. Carleton's Honours BSc is a single OUAC code, CT, at 78%, covering 17 majors; you name the major on the application. CS is the 3-year non-honours BSc and CK is Science - Major. Undecided science applicants can choose the Life Sciences or Physical Sciences Gateway.

Wilfrid Laurier University — Waterloo

Apply to Honours Science (BSc) (UZL)

You choose physics at the end of first year. Honours Science (UZL) is Laurier's explore-first science door: you take first-year courses across biology, chemistry, physics, math and psychology, then move into a major for second year.

Laurier has no standalone Physics major — it is absent from the full programme listing. Physics courses are available inside Honours Science (UZL, mid-70s), which Laurier describes as the door for students interested in science but unsure of a major. If you want a physics degree specifically, it is not here.

Toronto Metropolitan University

Apply to Medical Physics (SMP)

You choose physics on the application — TMU's only physics degree is Medical Physics.

TMU has no general Physics major. Medical Physics (SMP, 70-75%, co-op available) is the only physics degree and is health-oriented. If you want pure or theoretical physics, it is not here.

Laurentian University

Apply to Interdisciplinary Science (LVG)

You choose physics on the application — Laurentian has no physics major; physics is taken inside Interdisciplinary Science.

Laurentian has no physics degree. Physics survives as courses inside Interdisciplinary Science (LVG, 70%), which Laurentian describes as combining biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics and physics. If you want a physics degree, it is not here.

Nipissing University

Apply to not offered at Nipissing

Nipissing has no physics major. Its Bachelor of Science offers seven majors and physics is not among them; Mathematics, inside PS, is the nearest quantitative science.

Algoma University

Apply to not offered at Algoma

Algoma has no physics programme — confirmed absent from its own list. Biology is the only science.

Trent University — Durham GTA

Apply to not offered at Trent Durham

Not at Durham; Physics (RPY) is at the Peterborough campus.
