Cutoffs

Does Western care if you repeat a course?

If a student has 3 or more repeats, we will take the average of their attempts. If a student has 2 or fewer repeats, we will take the highest attempt.

Western University, quoted from the OUAC guide for guidance counsellors, September 2026 entry.

How that compares

Western averages your attempts past a threshold. Only 1 of the 23 Ontario universities that answer this do, so it is worth knowing before you assume the common rule applies.

This is what Western tells Ontario guidance counsellors; it is not published on their student pages. Rules like this change rarely, but confirm anything you are about to act on.
