What it is	Philosophy is the study of fundamental questions about knowledge, reality, ethics, and how to live. You examine ideas through reading, discussion, and reasoned argument rather than through experiments or fieldwork. This program suits people who enjoy questioning assumptions, thinking critically about complex problems, and exploring big ideas across many disciplines.	This is a first-year program that lets you explore different subject areas across disciplines before committing to a specific degree. You take courses in multiple fields — humanities, social sciences, sciences — to discover what interests you most, then choose your major after first year.
