GPA scales, by university

Ontario has no common grading scale. An A+ is a 12 at McMaster, a 4.3 at Queen’s, a 4.0 at U of T, a 9 at York, a 10 at uOttawa, and just a number at Waterloo. This is what each university prints, read from its own registrar or calendar on 2026-08-22, and what that means when a scholarship renewal or a program entry threshold is written in one currency and your transcript in another.

None of this is the admission average. You are admitted on your Grade 12 percentage; these scales start in September of first year.
