What it isIndustrial Design teaches you how to plan and shape physical products — from phones to furniture to medical devices — so they work well, look good, and can actually be made. You'll combine design thinking with engineering and manufacturing knowledge to understand both the creative and practical sides of bringing products to life. The co-op term lets you work in industry while you study, so you apply what you learn to real projects. This program teaches you how to create digital content across animation, game design, and visual media. Unlike a pure computer science degree, it balances technical skills with creative and design thinking. It suits people who want to build things that people see and interact with, rather than work mainly on backend systems or theory. You study business fundamentals — accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and management — at two Lakehead campuses in Ontario and complete mandatory work terms alongside your courses. This structure differs from a standard business degree by splitting your education between Thunder Bay and Orillia and requiring you to alternate semesters of study with paid work experience. It suits students who want practical industry exposure while earning a degree and are comfortable moving between campuses.A Bachelor of Business Administration is a four-year degree where you study core business concepts like accounting, finance, and marketing, then specialize in areas like human resources or entrepreneurship. This program includes a mandatory co-op work term, so you alternate between classroom learning and paid work experience at a company. It suits students who want practical business skills and real-world workplace exposure alongside theory.
