What it isYou study the design and creation of jewellery and textiles using both traditional craft techniques and modern materials. Unlike a purely fine art program, this combines artistic vision with practical knowledge of how materials behave and how to construct wearable or functional pieces. It suits people who want to make things with their hands, enjoy experimenting with colour and form, and see themselves as artist-craftspeople rather than purely visual artists. In this program you study how electricity and electronics work, from power systems and motors to circuits and devices. You'll learn to design, build, and troubleshoot electrical systems used in everything from homes to industries. The co-op requirement means you'll alternate between classroom terms and paid work terms at companies, giving you real engineering experience before you graduate. You study both electrical engineering and computing technology as a single five-year program, combining advanced circuits, power systems, and computer hardware design. Unlike a standard engineering degree, you graduate with two Bachelor degrees and complete paid work terms with employers throughout your studies, giving you real workplace experience alongside classroom learning. This suits students who want broad technical skills in electricity and computing, value hands-on experience, and are willing to commit to a longer, structured program.
