What it isArchitectural Studies teaches you how to design buildings and spaces, from sketching initial ideas to understanding how they're built and function. This program includes paid work terms where you apply what you're learning at real architecture firms alongside your classroom studies. It suits students who combine creative design thinking with interest in how buildings work technically and who want practical experience before or alongside their formal studies. In your first year, you take core math, physics, chemistry, and engineering courses alongside introductory modules in civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, software, and space engineering. This gives you time to explore which engineering discipline suits you before specializing in upper years. The program includes paid work terms, alternating with school, so you gain industry experience while studying. In your first semester, you take core engineering courses in math, physics, and design while exploring different engineering specializations — aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing. You won't choose your specific engineering stream until after first semester, letting you test what each field actually involves before committing. This suits students who are confident they want engineering but unsure which branch matches their interests and strengths.
