What it isYou study how to manage business finances and keep track of money for organizations. This program includes a mandatory co-op work term where you apply accounting skills in real workplaces, giving you practical experience before you graduate. It suits people comfortable with numbers who want hands-on preparation for careers in finance, auditing, or business management. This program combines a business degree with teacher training, letting you study subjects like accounting, finance, or marketing while simultaneously earning your teaching certification. Unlike a regular business degree, you graduate qualified to teach business courses in high school. It suits students who want a business career but are drawn to education, or who see teaching as a way to use their business expertise. You study business fundamentals — accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and management — at two Lakehead campuses in Ontario and complete mandatory work terms alongside your courses. This structure differs from a standard business degree by splitting your education between Thunder Bay and Orillia and requiring you to alternate semesters of study with paid work experience. It suits students who want practical industry exposure while earning a degree and are comfortable moving between campuses.
