What it isMechatronics engineering combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and software engineering to design and build machines and systems that integrate all three disciplines — think robots, automated manufacturing equipment, or smart devices. Unlike a traditional mechanical or electrical engineering program, mechatronics focuses specifically on how these fields work together rather than treating them separately. The program includes mandatory co-op work terms, and you can pursue it as a straight engineering degree or combined with management or social studies, depending on your interests.Engineering is a four-year degree in applied science and problem-solving, with seven specializations: civil, computer, electronic and electrical, geomatics, mechanical, software, and space. The co-op option lets you alternate between classroom semesters and paid work terms at engineering firms, giving you real experience before you graduate. It suits people who want hands-on technical training, enjoy math and physics, and prefer learning through doing alongside theory.
