What it isThis program combines two degrees studied side by side over four years: a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and a Bachelor of Education. Instead of finishing one degree then training as a teacher separately, you complete both simultaneously, so you graduate qualified to teach French in Ontario schools. It suits students who are fluent in French, want to teach the language, and prefer an integrated path rather than studying arts first and adding teacher training later. You study human behaviour, relationships, and social systems from childhood through adulthood, drawing on sociology, psychology, and policy analysis. This program is broader than social work alone because it covers family dynamics, community development, and social change rather than focusing only on professional counselling or casework. It suits people interested in understanding how families and societies work and who want careers in social services, policy, research, or international development.
