What it is	TrackOne is a first-year engineering program where you take core courses while exploring different engineering specializations before declaring your major. Unlike direct entry into a specific engineering stream, you delay choosing between chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and other branches until you've tried foundational material in each. It suits students drawn to engineering but uncertain which discipline fits them best, or who want to sample multiple fields before committing.	In your first semester, you take core engineering courses in math, physics, and design while exploring different engineering specializations — aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing. You won't choose your specific engineering stream until after first semester, letting you test what each field actually involves before committing. This suits students who are confident they want engineering but unsure which branch matches their interests and strengths.	You study how to design, build, and improve machines and mechanical systems, from engines to robots to aircraft parts. Direct entry means you skip the general first year and go straight into mechanical engineering courses — you don't have to apply again after finishing a foundation year. The program includes a mandatory co-op work term where you spend a semester working in industry. It suits students who know they want mechanical engineering, are strong in math and physics, and want to gain real workplace experience while studying.
