What it isYou study how businesses and economies work together, combining business management, finance, and economics theory. Unlike a straight business degree, this program weaves economic analysis throughout, so you learn to think like both an economist and a business manager. It suits people curious about why markets behave as they do and who want to apply that thinking to real business decisions — especially if you want co-op work experience built into your degree. You study business fundamentals — accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and management — at two Lakehead campuses in Ontario and complete mandatory work terms alongside your courses. This structure differs from a standard business degree by splitting your education between Thunder Bay and Orillia and requiring you to alternate semesters of study with paid work experience. It suits students who want practical industry exposure while earning a degree and are comfortable moving between campuses.
