What it isYou study the theory and hands-on practice of creating visual media — film, photography, and digital work — combined with understanding how media shapes culture and communication. Unlike a straight film production program, this one balances creative making with critical analysis of media's role in society. It suits people who want to both create visual work and think deeply about what it means. In this program you study how to write screenplays and develop film and television projects from concept through production. You'll learn storytelling for screen, visual language, and the business side of getting projects made, rather than focusing only on technical filmmaking or only on media theory. It's suited to people who want to create original stories for film and TV and understand how to shepherd those ideas into reality.Communication, Media and Film covers how people create and share messages through different formats: journalism, photography, film, drama, and digital media. The co-op option means you alternate between classroom learning and paid work terms in media organizations, giving you real industry experience alongside your degree. It suits people who want to understand storytelling and media from multiple angles while building a practical portfolio.
