It suits people who want to understand how societies work and express themselves clearly, without committing to a single specialized field from day one.	Linguistics is the study of how language works — its structure, sounds, grammar, and how people use it to communicate. This program lets you focus specifically on language science rather than learning to speak a particular language fluently. You can also choose a co-op option to gain work experience in fields like translation, education, or language technology alongside your studies, which suits students who want practical experience before graduation.	A degree in linguistics, language and society teaches you how languages work, how people use them, and what role language plays in culture and society.
