What it is	Electrical Engineering is a four-year program where you design, build, and troubleshoot systems that generate, transmit, and use electrical power and electronic devices. The BEng&Mgt option adds business and management courses so you can move toward leadership roles, whereas the straight BEng focuses entirely on engineering. Both include mandatory work terms, giving you paid experience in industry. This program suits you if you enjoy physics and math, like solving practical problems with electricity and electronics, and want hands-on learning alongside classroom theory.	You study the theory and practice of building software, designing systems, and solving problems with computers. Carleton's program lets you focus on specializations like artificial intelligence, games, or software engineering, and includes a co-op stream where you alternate between classroom and paid work terms. This suits students who want hands-on industry experience alongside their degree and are interested in both the technical and applied sides of computing.	In your first year, you take core math, physics, chemistry, and engineering courses alongside introductory modules in civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, software, and space engineering.
