What it is	This program teaches you to perform and interpret diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and other body samples in hospitals and labs. It focuses on the hands-on skills and scientific knowledge that lab technicians use to help doctors diagnose disease. The Northern Access Initiative means the program is designed for students from remote or underserved regions of Ontario, with support to help you succeed in a full-time, lab-based career.	Community health focuses on preventing disease and improving wellbeing in groups and populations rather than treating individuals one-on-one. You'll study how social factors, environment, and policy shape health outcomes, and learn to design programs that serve communities. It suits people interested in public health, health education, or working with diverse populations on prevention and equity.	Midwifery is a healthcare program focused on supporting pregnant people through pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. Midwives provide hands-on clinical care and work as autonomous practitioners, distinct from nurses or physicians who follow different training paths. The program suits people drawn to direct patient care, maternity health, and community-based medicine who want specialized knowledge in childbirth and women's health.
