What it isThis program teaches you to perform and interpret diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and other body samples in hospitals and labs. It focuses on the hands-on skills and scientific knowledge that lab technicians use to help doctors diagnose disease. The Northern Access Initiative means the program is designed for students from remote or underserved regions of Ontario, with support to help you succeed in a full-time, lab-based career.Life Sciences is a broad study of living organisms, their cells, genetics, and chemistry at the molecular level. You'll take core courses in biology, chemistry, and biochemistry, then choose a focus like microbiology, biotechnology, or human biology depending on your interests. The co-op option lets you alternate between school and paid work terms in research labs, hospitals, or biotech companies, giving you real experience alongside your degree.
