  • Current Ontario secondary school students must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M credits including English (ENG4U) and Advanced Functions (MHF4U), with a minimum grade of 60% in both. Should applicants present any of the following courses, their pre-engineering year may be adjusted accordingly: Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Chemistry (SCH4U) and/or Physics (SPH4U).

What it isGeneral Engineering is a broad first-year program that covers the fundamental principles of engineering — mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science — without specializing in one branch like civil or mechanical. After first year, you choose a specific engineering discipline to focus on. The co-op option lets you alternate between classroom semesters and paid work terms with engineering employers, giving you real workplace experience before you graduate. This program suits students interested in engineering but unsure which specialty appeals to them, or those who want to build practical skills alongside their degree.Pre-Engineering is a one-year program that strengthens your math and science foundations before you move into a specialized engineering degree. You'll take courses in chemistry, physics, and advanced mathematics to prepare for civil, mechanical, electrical, or general engineering programs. It's designed for students who want to study engineering but need to build up their technical skills first. An Honours Science degree lets you study a science subject deeply — biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, or another physical science — and choose your own focus within it. Unlike a general science program, an Honours degree requires a concentrated major and typically includes a research or capstone component. The co-op option means you alternate between school terms and paid work placements in science-related jobs, which suits people who want real workplace experience alongside their degree.
