What it isThis program combines two degrees studied side by side over four years: a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and a Bachelor of Education. Instead of finishing one degree then training as a teacher separately, you complete both simultaneously, so you graduate qualified to teach French in Ontario schools. It suits students who are fluent in French, want to teach the language, and prefer an integrated path rather than studying arts first and adding teacher training later.Arts One is a broad first-year program that lets you explore multiple humanities and social science subjects — including anthropology, history, English, economics, and geography — before deciding on a major. Unlike applying directly to a single program, this approach gives you time to sample different disciplines and find the right fit before committing. It suits students who are curious about ideas and society but aren't yet certain which direction they want to specialize in.
