What it is	Computer engineering combines the design of computer hardware with the software that runs on it. You'll study circuits, processors, programming, and systems that integrate both. The co-op stream lets you alternate between classroom and paid work terms at tech companies, giving you real industry experience alongside your degree, which sets it apart from the straight four-year option.	Mechatronics Engineering combines mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and computer control into one program. You learn to design and build machines that think and respond — robots, automated factories, smart devices — by integrating mechanics, electronics, and software. The co-op option lets you alternate between classroom semesters and paid work terms at companies using these skills, so you graduate with real industry experience.	Engineering at Western teaches you to design and build solutions to practical problems using mathematics, science, and materials. You choose a specialization like software, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, or study general engineering first before deciding. The program includes co-op work terms, so you alternate between classes and paid jobs with employers, giving you real experience alongside your degree.
