What it isCriminology is the study of crime, criminal behaviour, and the justice system that responds to it. You'll examine why people commit crimes, how laws are enforced, and the social and psychological factors behind criminal activity. This program suits people interested in understanding crime from an academic angle rather than pursuing law or direct policing careers. This program lets you study criminal justice and education at the same time, earning two degrees in five years instead of six. You'll learn about law, crime, and the justice system while also training to teach grades 1 through 6. It suits people who want to work as a teacher but have a strong interest in how the criminal justice system works, or who see themselves teaching in alternative schools or programs focused on at-risk youth.Arts One is a broad first-year program that lets you explore multiple humanities and social science subjects — including anthropology, history, English, economics, and geography — before deciding on a major. Unlike applying directly to a single program, this approach gives you time to sample different disciplines and find the right fit before committing. It suits students who are curious about ideas and society but aren't yet certain which direction they want to specialize in.This program trains you to teach junior and intermediate students (roughly grades 4 to 10) by combining a university degree in arts subjects with teacher education coursework. You study one or two arts subjects like English, history, or psychology while also taking education courses that teach you how to plan lessons, manage a classroom, and assess student learning. It suits people who want to teach a specific subject and earn a teaching credential in four years rather than doing a separate degree first.
