What you studyChemistryAgricultureChemistryChemistryMolecular Biology, BiochemistryPharmacology, Toxicology & Pharmacy
What it isYou study the chemistry of living things at the molecular level, learning how proteins, DNA, and other molecules work inside cells and organisms. This is more focused on biological systems than a straight chemistry program, and more chemistry-heavy than a general biology degree. It suits students who want to understand disease, drug development, or cellular processes and are comfortable with both chemistry and biology at an advanced level.Applied Biotechnology is the study of using living organisms and their processes to solve problems in agriculture, medicine, and industry. You'll take courses in chemistry, biology, and genetics while learning to apply this knowledge in real laboratories and workplaces. The BSc and Management version adds business skills alongside the science, and co-op placements are built into both programs so you earn experience with employers while studying.Biochemistry is the study of the chemical processes that happen inside living cells and organisms — how molecules interact, how energy moves through bodies, and how drugs and poisons affect biological systems. You'll take courses in chemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacology. If you choose the co-op stream, you'll alternate between classroom study and paid work terms at labs or pharmaceutical companies, giving you real experience alongside your degree.
