You study the Anishinaabemowin language — the language of Anishinaabe peoples in the Great Lakes region — alongside broader Aboriginal Studies content. This is a dedicated language program, not a general Indigenous studies degree, so you spend significant time learning to speak, read, and write the language itself. It suits people with genuine interest in Indigenous languages and cultures, particularly those from Anishinaabe communities or those committed to language revitalization work.
