What it is	TrackOne is a first-year engineering program where you take core courses while exploring different engineering specializations before declaring your major. Unlike direct entry into a specific engineering stream, you delay choosing between chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and other branches until you've tried foundational material in each. It suits students drawn to engineering but uncertain which discipline fits them best, or who want to sample multiple fields before committing.	Smith Engineering's direct-entry computer engineering program lets you study the design and programming of computing systems from the ground up, combining software development with the electronics and electrical principles that make hardware work. Unlike applying to general engineering first, you enter this stream directly and follow a focused path in computer engineering throughout your degree. It suits students who are confident they want to build or optimize computer systems and hardware, not just write software in isolation.	Engineering at Western teaches you to design and build solutions to practical problems using mathematics, science, and materials. You choose a specialization like software, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, or study general engineering first before deciding. The program includes co-op work terms, so you alternate between classes and paid jobs with employers, giving you real experience alongside your degree.	Engineering I – Discovery Track lets you explore multiple engineering specializations during your first year before committing to a specific stream like chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, or software engineering. You can also choose to combine engineering with management or social studies. The co-op option means you'll alternate between classroom and paid work terms, giving you real experience in the field while studying.
