What it is	This program teaches you how to design and plan buildings, landscapes, and outdoor spaces, and understand the history and theory behind architecture. It differs from pure design programs because it emphasizes both the creative and technical sides of how buildings and environments are shaped. It suits students who want to study architecture as a discipline before applying to a professional architecture school, or who are drawn to design thinking and the built environment.	You study how to design systems and structures that protect the environment and manage natural resources — combining biology, chemistry, civil engineering, and earth science. Unlike a general engineering program, this one focuses specifically on water treatment, waste management, air quality, and land remediation. It suits students who want to solve real environmental problems with engineering tools and are willing to do mandatory work terms alongside their studies.	Engineering I – Discovery Track lets you explore multiple engineering specializations during your first year before committing to a specific stream like chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, or software engineering. You can also choose to combine engineering with management or social studies. The co-op option means you'll alternate between classroom and paid work terms, giving you real experience in the field while studying.
