What it is	This program lets you study science broadly — chemistry, physics, biology, materials science, and related fields — at university level. Unlike a specialized honours program in a single science, this one gives you flexibility to explore multiple areas before focusing deeper. The co-op option lets you alternate study terms with paid work in science-related industries. It suits students who are strong in math and sciences but not yet sure which direction to specialize in, or who want practical work experience alongside their degree.	Engineering at Western teaches you to design and build solutions to practical problems using mathematics, science, and materials. You choose a specialization like software, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, or study general engineering first before deciding. The program includes co-op work terms, so you alternate between classes and paid jobs with employers, giving you real experience alongside your degree.	Nanotechnology Engineering is the study of designing and building materials and devices at the molecular and atomic scale, combining chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering. Unlike a general engineering program, this one requires you to complete mandatory work terms alongside your studies, alternating between classroom and industry jobs so you graduate with significant hands-on experience. It suits students strong in math and sciences who want practical engineering experience and are interested in how materials behave at extremely small scales.
