What it is	Applied Biotechnology uses chemistry and biology to solve real problems in agriculture, food production, and related industries. This program requires you to work on alternating terms of classroom learning and paid work placements, giving you hands-on experience before you graduate. You study the structure and behaviour of atoms, molecules, and reactions: how substances interact, break down, and transform. Unlike a general science degree, this is a focused program in chemistry alone, and includes a mandatory co-op term where you work in a lab or industry setting. It suits students who enjoy hands-on lab work and want practical experience alongside theory before entering chemistry, materials, or pharmaceutical careers.	Honours Science is a broad science degree where you choose your major from fields like biology, chemistry, environmental science, computer science, or archaeology. Unlike a general science program, an honours degree requires you to specialize in one subject and complete more advanced courses in that area. It suits students who want a strong grounding in science but haven't yet decided on one specific career path, or who want deeper knowledge in a particular field.
