What it is	Energy Engineering teaches you how to design, build, and manage systems that generate, distribute, and use energy efficiently and sustainably. You study thermodynamics, power generation, renewable energy, and electrical systems alongside engineering fundamentals. The BEng&Mgt option adds business and management courses so you can move into planning or leadership roles, whereas the straight BEng focuses entirely on technical engineering skills. This program suits people who want to solve real problems in energy while building hands-on experience through paid work terms.	Engineering at Western teaches you to design and build solutions to practical problems using mathematics, science, and materials. You choose a specialization like software, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, or study general engineering first before deciding. The program includes co-op work terms, so you alternate between classes and paid jobs with employers, giving you real experience alongside your degree.	In your first year, you take core math, physics, chemistry, and engineering courses alongside introductory modules in civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, software, and space engineering.
