What it is	Applied Biotechnology is the study of using living organisms and their processes to solve problems in agriculture, medicine, and industry. You'll take courses in chemistry, biology, and genetics while learning to apply this knowledge in real laboratories and workplaces. The BSc and Management version adds business skills alongside the science, and co-op placements are built into both programs so you earn experience with employers while studying.	A general arts or science degree lets you study a broad range of subjects in your first year or two, then choose a major from fields like anthropology, chemistry, biology, business, or astronomy. Unlike a specialized program, you're not locked into one subject from the start, so you can explore and decide what interests you most. This suits students who want flexibility, aren't sure what they want to study, or like the idea of combining subjects across different disciplines.
