What it is	Social Science is a broad study of how people, societies, and economies work. You choose a focus like economics, anthropology, history, or business studies, then take courses across that field. Western offers this as either a BA or BSc depending on your focus, and you can do it with co-op, meaning you alternate between school terms and paid work placements in your field.	A sociology degree means studying how people form groups, institutions, and societies — why they act the way they do together, what shapes their beliefs and behaviours, and how power and inequality work in the real world. This four-year program includes a co-op work term, giving you paid experience in a workplace related to social research, policy, or community work. It suits people curious about how society works who want both classroom theory and hands-on practice in fields like research, social services, or communications.	You earn a Bachelor of Arts degree while simultaneously training to become a high school teacher. You study an academic subject like English, history, or mathematics alongside education courses that teach you how to teach those subjects to teenagers. Unlike a regular BA followed by a separate teacher education program, you complete both degrees at the same time in four years, so you enter the classroom faster and with integrated training.
