What it isGeneral Engineering is a broad first-year program that covers the fundamental principles of engineering — mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science — without specializing in one branch like civil or mechanical. After first year, you choose a specific engineering discipline to focus on. The co-op option lets you alternate between classroom semesters and paid work terms with engineering employers, giving you real workplace experience before you graduate. This program suits students interested in engineering but unsure which specialty appeals to them, or those who want to build practical skills alongside their degree.Pre-Engineering is a one-year program that strengthens your math and science foundations before you move into a specialized engineering degree. You'll take courses in chemistry, physics, and advanced mathematics to prepare for civil, mechanical, electrical, or general engineering programs. It's designed for students who want to study engineering but need to build up their technical skills first.Honours Science is a broad science degree where you choose your major from fields like biology, chemistry, environmental science, computer science, or archaeology. Unlike a general science program, an honours degree requires you to specialize in one subject and complete more advanced courses in that area. It suits students who want a strong grounding in science but haven't yet decided on one specific career path, or who want deeper knowledge in a particular field.
