What it isCriminology is the study of crime, criminal behaviour, and the justice system that responds to it. You'll examine why people commit crimes, how laws are enforced, and the social and psychological factors behind criminal activity. This program suits people interested in understanding crime from an academic angle rather than pursuing law or direct policing careers.Social Science is a broad study of how people, societies, and economies work. You choose a focus like economics, anthropology, history, or business studies, then take courses across that field. Western offers this as either a BA or BSc depending on your focus, and you can do it with co-op, meaning you alternate between school terms and paid work placements in your field. This program lets you earn a Bachelor of Arts in one of ten humanities or social science subjects, then move directly into a Master of Business Administration without reapplying. The co-op component means you alternate between study and paid work terms in business settings throughout both degrees. It suits people who want deep knowledge in a humanities field but also need business skills and real workplace experience before graduation.
