At the end of first year.

What to watch for

McMaster has no undergraduate program called Medical Sciences — that is a Western/Queen's name. The equivalent pre-med route here is the Life Sciences Gateway, or Honours Health Sciences if you can get in. Two things not to mistake for it: 'Medicine' on McMaster's site is the MD program, which you cannot enter from Grade 12, and Honours Medical Radiation Sciences is a specific imaging and radiation therapy degree, not a general medical science route.

The same application also gets you to

Life Sciences Gateway is the entry point for 5 other majors at McMaster. You are not choosing between these at application time.
