Prerequisites

  • ENG4U
  • MCV4U
  • 4 Additional U/M courses

When you choose mathematics

During Plan Selection in May at the end of first year.

What to watch for

QSM has the lightest science prerequisites of any Queen's science route: English 4U and Calculus and Vectors 4U plus four other 4U/M courses — NO Biology, Chemistry or Physics 4U required. That is a real advantage if you dropped the sciences. Mathematics and Engineering is a separate Smith Engineering discipline entered through QE — same word, different faculty and application. CODE CAVEAT: OUInfo names this "Mathematics and Data Sciences" while Queen's Journal reported it as "Mathematics and Statistics"; confirm the exact name/code on OUAC.

The same application also gets you to

Mathematics and Data Sciences Pathway is the entry point for 1 other major at Queen's. You are not choosing between these at application time.
