Education at Ontario Tech

Not directly. At Ontario Tech University you apply to Educational Studies (DST), then choose education after your BA — Concurrent Education gives advanced acceptance into the 16-month BEd, dependent on GPA and subject specialization.

What to watch for

Ontario Tech's education route from Grade 12 is a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies (DST, low-70s; DFT co-op), not a BEd. Its Concurrent Education option, in Ontario Tech's words, lets you 'apply for advanced acceptance into the Consecutive Education program', so on finishing the four-year BA you 'enter directly into the 16-month Bachelor of Education' — acceptance 'dependent on GPA and subject specialization requirements'. Graduates are recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for certification. Several streams share the range: Special Education (DES), Early Childhood Studies (DEO), Digital Technologies (DEK), Equity Diversity and Inclusion (DEJ).
